FAQ'S

How old are you?
I was born in 1984. You do the math.

Where did you go to school and have you always wanted to do labor & delivery?
I graduated from the Medical College of Georgia (which later became Georgia's Health Sciences University and is now Georgia Regents University of Augusta.) in 2006. My mom worked in women's services when she finished nursing school, so I've been interested in L&D for a while. Despite trying to move in a different direction while I was in school, through a random turn of events, I ended up doing my senior practicum in L&D and loved it. When I moved to Fort Worth, I worked in medical-telemetry for a year before settling in L&D and I've been there ever since.

Wait a minute. Georgia... then Fort Worth... What brought you to Texas?
My husband Jordan and I moved to Fort Worth after we were married so that he could attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After graduating in 2009 with a Masters of Divinity, he accepted the Youth Minister job at FBC Rockport.

How did you and Jordan meet?
We went to the same church and met in the youth group. I was a junior in high school and he was a senior (we went to separate schools). We were friends for a while and then he turned on the charm and swept me off my feet. We dated through high school and college, got engaged on July 7, 2005 and married July 8, 2006. We have two awesome boys, Isaac & Ian.

What kind of camera do you use?
I should preface this by saying I know nothing about photography despite attending a multi-session class a few years ago. I confessed in my about me page that I only take photos in auto. I'll also sometimes take photos without a flash. I know even less about photoshop. I "invested" in a Nikon D40X about 5 years ago and haven't changed since then.

How long have you been blogging?
I started Blog O Hollic (then titled Ellipses) in April 2008. I was living apart from family and needed a hobby, meaning I wrote about all sorts of random stuff. Here we are now years later, and I'm still writing about all sorts of random stuff, but now for some reason more people read along.
