Jordan and I will celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary on July 8 this year.
And April will mark 9 years together.
Our first date coincidentally was my junior prom (and I wish I knew where my pictures were hiding!). Jordan and I had met at church (West Acres of course!) and were getting to know each other when we decided to go with on a group prom date. Jordan and his friends, me and my friends out to dinner and then to prom. Jordan and I werent "together" at the time, but we were interested in each other.
Little did I know, Jordan had plans of his own. He came to pick me up and had a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for me in the car. He'd also burned a cd of romantic songs with a few of my favorites mixed in.We didnt go to the Japanese restaurant that I thought we had reservations at, in fact, we didnt see any of the friends we had planned to spend the evening with.
We ended up eating at The Partridge Inn (while it still had a restaurant). It was amazing. After dinner, we decided to hold off on prom for a little longer and drove down to Riverwalk. We ended up walking until I had blisters on my feet and missed the first 2 hours of the prom. We danced through the last song and headed back to my house for a post-prom get together. We met up with the friends that we'd ditched before the evening got started and ate dessert and chatted about the night.
Eventually, everyone started to make their way out, and Jordan pulled me aside and asked for one final dance. He started the car and started playing the CD he made for me and we danced again. Shortly after the song was over, he asked me to be his girlfriend.
Fast forward a few years... through high school and through college. July 7, 2005, Jordan recreated our very first date (minus the tux and sequined gown) and when we danced again at the end of our date, instead of asking for me to be his girlfriend, he asked me to be his wife.
I love my sweet husband and am so excited to call him my valentine!!!
